Measuring distance? |
I have this trail that I do regularly, takes me about 1.5 hours to complete. There are no signage as to the distance of this trail. Is there any site similar to google map where I can perhaps trace the path of the trail and the website would tell me the distance? Yes, I have one that's perfect for your needs. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ You have to search for your location at the top, make sure you include zip code. It might be a little confusing to learn to measure, so just email if you have any other further questions. of course!!! google earth use the ruler(path) i do and is excellent personal experience I always measure my running distance in my car first.. i guess if your car doesnt go along the trail it could be tricky! I'm not sure about google earth but that could work? pedometer An instrument that gauges the approximate distance traveled on foot by registering the number of steps taken If those sites don't work for you...as a trail may not show up on a map of these types, try this: I often take my bike on a trail before I run it so I learn dips,. and ditches, and such before going on foot. I have a little device you can get at any bike shop or even Kmart/Wal-Mart that will record distance. They are amazingly accurate. Assuming you have a bike. |
