Best street bike for gas mileage?? |
I have read other peoples Q/A's but they don't say what their traffic conditions are. I live in San Antonio and drive in peak rush hour times. Though it's not Houston or LA, it's pretty darn thick. So if anyone drives in thse condition I would greatly appreciate hearing what kind of street bike and what gas mileage you get. Thanks!! 2008 Ninja 250R. There is only one bike that is known as the Gasoline Camel as its so good on gas. Go for a Honda Rebel, CMX 250. Light., nimble, easy to ride, super acceleration. Up to 70 MPH. MPG reported from 50-70. I think 70 is stretching., but 50 + is for sure. This bike is used in almost all motorcycle training schools. ninja 250R... Your fuel economy is going to be a lot better than a car/truck so why worry about +/- a few mpg? Get a bike that has enough pep to get out of the way of the crazies and be able to keep up with the traffic flow. You don't mention how far you will ride every day. That may affect your decision on size. A 90cc bike will get awesome mileage but might also get you run over. I'd look for a 200cc to 450cc machine. A twin will be the smoothest. BMW F 650 GS, claimed 68 mpg. I 3rd the comment on the Kawasaki 250 Ninja |
