Thinking about buying a street bike? |
Ok I am thinking about buying a street bike but just to ride around on because of gas... Yea that what I was thinking about getting Something in the 175-400 CC range should be fine for you then. The smaller end will be cheaper to buy and operate, light enough to maneuver it easily, and still work on city streets. The larger end will be a bit more expensive, use a little more fuel, and be heavier, but you should still be able to manage it. that depends a lot on what type of bike Go to site below. Click on video that says "What new riders should know and buy" video, also "how to buy a used motorcycle and not get burned" the 250 is a nice bike, but if you want a great bike, buy the kawasaki ninja 500. it is not to big, and not to small and it has the perfect amount of power for the starting rider. and it gets great mpg. for the perfect price, buy a 02-05, an 02 would be about 2995, 05 would be about 3495. Definetly need a 600cc. Look for parts replaced, road rash, and tires. Used sportbikes go from 2500 to 4500 hundred depending on year and mileage for a good price. I am 5'4" and 105 lbs. I bought a used Honda Shadow 650 for $1200 and it ran great and got good mpg. Being a girl, I thought it was just a tad big for me, yet I liked it when on the open highway because of turbulence from passing cars. (I was no speed demon) ninja 250 would be a great choice for a first bike... |
