What is a good Beginer Motorcyle for a 24 year old 6 foot 2 180lbs and I want a street bike in the $1500-$3000

I really want to start but i dont know were to lol I know I will be safe on it and plan to only use it for rec purposes and the occasional trip to work. I have been driveing for 8 years and only 1 speeding ticket so also how will insurance be comparable to my car which I pay 1400 a year for in insurance

I would suggest learning on a 250cc in a class, but your starter bike should be no less than a 500cc but no larger than an 800cc (sport or cruiser).

You can find decent bikes anywhere from a few years old to older than you for $1500 to $3000, so look far and wide for a motorbike. Don't settle too quickly. A brand new Ninja 250r is tempting, and it is a nice bike, but if you get into biking and stick with it, you'll become very disappointed with the 250 and will want something more. Make sure you sit on the bikes and get a good feel for what you want. A safety class will help you determine what style you may want as most safety classes use the most basic standard bike (like a honda nighthawk or rebel). When you say you want a street bike, do you know what type you are interested in. Street bike includes: cruisers, sport, sport-touring, touring, standard, etc.

I'm in North Carolina, USA and my bike insurance per year is somewhere in the ballpark of $240.

Plan on quadrupling your insurance rates; you would be an under-25 male on a sportbike, which is THE highest insurance anywhere.

That you're 6'2" and 180lbs makes as much difference to insurance companies as the color of your hair. They charge you a premium to insure you based on their data, which says that you are the highest risk group. They don't care about promises to be careful, how strong you are, etc.

Taking an MSF course COULD help your premiums, as well as waiting a year until you're 25. No kidding.

I'm a 35-year old male, married, MSF course taken, on a 600cc sportbike. I pay $35/month for FULL coverage on my bike, but you would be charged close to $300/month for the same bike.

I'm 21, 5'11", 140 lbs. and started out w/ a 2003 CBR600RR, so i'm sure you could pull it off, too. buy used; insurance is wayyy cheaper (not like you'll find a new one in that price range anyways lol). Since you're only gonna use it occasionally, liability insurance should be sufficient. It's what i did, and i pay around $80 a year insurance...and I have a few speeding tickets.

I, 5'11 225lbs and the perfect learning bike for me is the Honda CBR 600 F4i.

Awesome Bike very forgiving, and also has the power to get you to 150's easy stock if you do track days. Also quick response and very maneuverable .

You can find a used 2002 one for your price range

you're about the same size as me, and i ride a sportster, insurance is probably way different in canada, but i pay $850

depending on what bike brand ( yamaha kawasaki suzuki)you decide to go with I would try any thing from a 250 thru a 500
