97 Lincoln LSC Manual? |
There is this guy that has a 97 Lincoln LSC Manual that wants to trade for one of my street bikes. Did Lincoln make such a car? I can't find any info about it. Its a Mark 8 Lincoln has NEVER offered a manual transmission for any '93 to '98 model year Mark VIIIs equipped with the 4.6L DOHC V8 engines. The only transmission offered, was the 4R70W 4 speed automatic during those model years. '83 to '92 model years, the Mark VII were equipped with the 5.0L (302) V8 and the AOD 4 speed automatic transmissions. The LSC version was equipped with the 5.0L H.O. version, similar to what was used in Mustangs of that era. Because these vehicles were equipped with automatic transmissions that were entirely hydraulic, swapping in a manual transmission was only a matter of raiding the parts bin of other existing models that would work with little headaches. The '93 to '98 model years however, would've required much more electrical work for such a swap, due to the 4R70W being an electronically controlled transmission that worked in conjuction with the vehicle's PCM to operate. Swapping in a manual transmission into this vehicle would've required reworking the PCM in some way. All that said, it is unlikely that this vehicle is equipped with a manual transmission. Hope this helps. i never heard of one with a manual trans. my book doesn't show it either. you can take the vin # to a dealer and they can look up the factory trans in the vehicle. they should do it for free. if it is factory it is rare. I am guessing you mean manual transmission, right? Lincoln only made the Lincoln LS V6 in a manual they did not make a Mark VIII in a manual. no... when the Lincoln LS came out in 2000 it was the first lincoln to offer a manual since the1950's... Yes the LSC had the higher performance engine and handling package. Unless you have one why do you need a manual ? Should be pretty much a generic manual . |
