I'm looking for a bike?

I'm looking for a street mortocycle under $3,000 and is in San Diego County, Ca. Does anyone have any ideas that will help me?

don't forget about insurance and safety gear, it adds up much faster than you think, in fact, you could probably spend the 3k on those alone!

OK, for starters I'd look inland for a bike. Sea air is harsh on anything metal and also oxidizes aluminum. That said, what kind of riding? If not sport, look for a shaft drive. Chains need greater care and attention when near the coast. Also, anything that uses hydraulic fluid as opposed to cables would hold up better in coastal environment. You're conditions will make a significant impact on your ownership cost, so keep that in mind.
