I'm 6'3" and 310 lbs, am I too big for either a Dyna Super Glide or Street Bob?

Asking those who might have either model and be "large". This is not my first bike by any means (had my class M for 16 years).

You're not too big. I'm also 6'-3" but weigh less. I have a 2002 Super Glide. The standard foot controls kept my knees bent too far and was not a comfortable riding position. I almost passed up buying it. However, forward controls changed my mind. The riding position improved a lot. I can ride it all day, no problem. Forward controls are a must for anyone our height that rides a Super Glide. Don't worry about your size. Go to your local Harley dealer and sit on them, see how they feel to you and choose the one most comfortable for you. Then enjoy the ride.

na, either will fit you fine, but i'd imagine you'll want forward controls installed, both of those have mid controls and your knees will stay fairly bent on them. i'm 6'1" and am happy with normal fwd controls, if you have a different preference, you can always opt for extended forward controls, then they're another 4" forward but outside the front of the frame, so you can't add an engine bar or chin spoiler or anything. only the wide glide comes stock with fwd controls, maybe that new fat bob (it will be too small, it's a small bike)
night train might be another choice worth considering for you, go visit a dealer and squat on a few
these other guys talking about road kings or such probably aren't as tall as you or i and may not realize that fl bikes with floorboards are a bit tight for the long legged. stick to the fx bikes

Most modern Harleys are designed for a 5'8" to 5'10" rider at 180 lbs. That said, the sky is the limit on making the bike fit almost anybody. Change the seat so you are pushed back. Move the bars forward and get those forward controls extended. Tighten up the rebound on the shocks and you'll like the ride much more. If you talk to the parts department at any dealer, they can set you in the right direction.
Good luck

cracked up when I read Low Jac's answer.

No man, your not to big for either of those bikes. You will do fine, they both have good suspension and come with plenty of motor. 96 inch motor with six speed tranny will haul just about anything.

I might not be puttin anyone else on one of those bikes with you. You plan on packin someone you might want to look at an Ultra or something.

No. Actually, the Dyna will fit quite well.
At 5'9", the forward pegs were hard for me to reach.
Forward controls would have been out of the question for me.
At your size, should be perfect.
It should handle the weight as well.
(No offense intended here) You weigh about as much as my wife and I combined. The only difference I notice over solo is the smoother, softer ride.

Sit on all of them! Harleys were made for big men and their "significant others," hence the torque. We're the same height but you've got seventy pounds on me. I've had a Road King since they came out. Harley's test facility is located only a few miles from my home. Take comfort in the fact that big men are test riding HD's 24/7, rain, sleet, snow and Christmas. Keep the shiny side up and enjoy!

My husband rides a Suzuki Bandit 1200. He says no you are not too big for either of those bikes!

We know a friend of a friend who just bought his first bike....a Honda Shadow 250 and he's the same size you are. Now that's too small of a bike! My husband got a kick out of that!

No your not to big for either of those bikes, but you might prefer a road king or softail. If you're set on either of those from the dyna family then go for it and enjoy the ride.

i got a buddy who just bought a 74 honda xl350 and he's like 6'6" and i'ma guess 400lbs. so he might be to big for that but he has fun on it, and thats the main thing.

I think the Dyna is too small for you. I would suggest at least a soft tail Fat Boy or Road King. They make a Dyna low rider because that model is so popular for (small) women.

Consider a Goldwing.

sound like you need a flhtci 6;1 here fit good and ride nice good luck.

You're not too big for a Dyna Super Glide. It'll make you feel like a little kid again!

Enjoy.

Yes... You would be better off on the full dress or the Honda Goldwing or a trike.

Nope your not too big at all
