When I run, how do i get rid of the pain from my side? |
At my school we have gym twice in rotation. I have health right now and next rotation i have my last gym class then school is over. Every wednesday we have to run around the gym basketball court for a full 4 minutes without stopping. After 2 minutes I feel like i'm going to faint, i run out of breath, and my side starts to hurt which feels like the pain is under my ribs and it makes me want to stop for a minute. I don't want that to happen to me again. So how do I get rid of the pain before I start gym again? I been planning on riding my bike on my street but my dad has my bike hooked up on the wall. So i can't get it down. so..Any ideas? I'm in the 8th grade. forgot to add that one in. i'm a 14 year old girl. so idk why i been having these pains on my side underneath my ribs. usually the pain starts to hurt on my right side underneath my ribs and then sometimes goes to my left side underneath my ribs. gahh idk wat to doo?!! cuz i'm going to audition for a marching band and i have to practice the music AND do a physical audition!!!!!!!!!!! HELP ASAP and the audition starts in like 2 weeks!!!! Its all in your breathing. Breathe in your nose and out your mouth. Never works for me....I always get the pain. I wish you luck!! Also..be sure to stretch and drink plenty of water!! If you can't run mor ethan 2 minutes without feeling faint you need to get in shape. For the pain try stretching your oblique muscles. They're the ones on your sides between the rib cage and the pelvis,side bends are good. i find that if i just push through that pain(its hard to do) i can eventually stop feeling it and get into a mode of running where thats all im focused on and dont feel anything else. Also try eating healthier, less fatty foods and more veggies and fruits You need to let your teacher know that The whole problem is your breathing. You have to breath in your nose and out your mouth. Doing this will solve your problem. keep breathing inand out with your mouth Stop eating and drinking approx. 2hrs before you start running. Bananas may help as I hear the potassium helps. Also... when you run, breath evenly in and out (ex. two or three counts in, and two or three counts out). Concentrate on your breathing... through your mouth. You may want to speed walk and practice the breathing. |
