For cheap first motorcycle?

i would like to know what bikes 1975-1987 that you can pick up for $700 under 600cc nothing special just street legal, please no one tell me to save my money, or brag about how great there bike is, or say i dont know what im doing.

You can swing a pretty good bike for that sum, you will be looking at the older bikes as you mention, and the best deal will be on one that has some very minor problem that is easy to remedy, but the owner doesn't know how to do it and really does not want to hire a mechanic! (Limit your search to quality built machines, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, SOME of the older Kawasaki models. I would avoid the older British stuff, Triumph, BSA and the like)

If you can find a combo like that, you can get a real sweet machine that will last a long time.

Check out the Honda 750-four's from the 1970's. They really are great machines.
