What CC motorcycle should i get?

Last summer i rode a 250 enduro arund everywhere, i sold it in the fall. Now i want to get a sport bike but don't know what size to get.
I was thinking a 600 or 750 but my friend said that once you get used to it you will want to sell it and get like a 1000.

I have expierence riding dirtbikes all my life and on the street for one summer. So what size should i get?

I've also been riding all of my life, mostly on KTM 250 2-stroke trail riding. But recently i got one of the new 2008 Ninja 250R's. No matter what people tell you, this bike has plenty of power for the street, especially when you hit the power band on it. I would highly recommend it to you. A 600 is fine if you've never ridden a street bike before, until you hit a pothole and wonder where the heck your bike went. The new Ninja has a sporty look and feel to it. If you really feel you need to step up soon though, then Suzuki makes a good 500, or the Kawasaki ZZR 600 or 650. Those have more than enough power but are more designed for the street rather than the track.

Your friend is being honest and accurate.
The problem is most bikes in that cc are heavy so harder to ride and more risk when starting out.
However it seems like you have experience.

See the bike below its a zx10 thats 1000cc and they are good

Just get the big bike now. It has a throttle, so you can control how fast or slow you go. You won't have to worry about the upgrading hassle later. If you don't get a big one now you will want a bigger one later.

Yup, start out smaller and work yer way up, pay yer dues and all that, get some solid experience before you bust out the big guns. cheers, ride safe, shiney up rubber down.

fuel injected 1100 sportbike

I think you should go for the 1000!!
Seriously.
Happy Riding........watch out for idiots!

Starting out on any liter bike (1000cc) would be a painfully expensive mistake. Start on the 600, sell in a year and move up to the 750,theres a big difference in power. Practice your skills, and i do not mean how to make it go fast, thats easy, im refering to stopping, cornering, braking while cornering around a turn under unfavorable conditions, applying the brakes properly, yes its a technique to properly stopping.
Ive 20+ years experience, ive 2 sportbikes, a gix 750 and gix 1000. I know what it takes.....im still alive and in one piece.

This would be a great compromise between a 600/750.

Your first choice is usally the best, and moving up to 1000+ later, makes good sense.
Give yourself a chance to experience street riding on a powerful machine.
Good riding.

I agree, start on a 600, you won't be bored, I promise.

Get this bike: http://www.suzukicycles.com/Products/GSX...

It has all the power you'll need. It has three settings that automatically "tame" the bike for you when you are just learning how to ride it. When you do get better, put the setting on normal and lett 'r rip. Besides, my friend has this exact same bike and wonders why he ever spend a fortunre on a Ducati!

Get a 250cc . like a ninja.

Your friend has something missing he is trying to make up with large displacment pistons. A 250 will do 70 MPH all day against the wind.
