What should I put for my second to last sentence in my "caption" about Lance Armstrong?

Just asking for opinion.
It has to be something about Lance getting to the finish line or crossing the finish line.
It is the Tour de France race, just to give a visual.
Also, it has to sort of be creative.
Your sentence(s) go where the blank is at the ending.
Here is the rest of the caption:

"Livestrong"

Frenzied people lined the streets of France cheering and hoping for Lance Armstrong to win his last race before retirement. The crowd went wild as Armstrong vivaciously pedaled around the corner in the last lap of the Tour de France. He is determined to win the again this year, fighting back at his testicular cancer. He leans over the front of the bike, and starts pedaling more rapidly. Armstrong, noted as one of the most dedicated and passionate cyclists, raises his arm and wipes the sweat off of his face. Even with several opponents right behind him, Lance races with a steady, but quick pace, and takes the lead.

Except that in all of his TDF wins, the result was decided several days before by Time Trial, mountain stage, or both.

He's never held the stage lead during the final laps in Paris.

I agree with silverbullet. To make the kind of "caption" that you are presenting is to do so as a work of fiction. Which seems kind of wrong since Lance did indeed win the TDF and accomplished those victories in a manner that is so contradictory to what you've (so far) written. It's simply not an accurate portrayal is all.
Sorry, but you did ask for opinion.

Maybe keep it simple?
