What is a good street bike or naked bike that is the easiest/cheapest to maintain?

Maybe a bandit 600 or 1200?
Cheap to buy and mantain.
Any aircooled naked i reckon as you dont have a fairing to ake off to get at the motor.

i have 2000 sv650. all i do is put gas, change oil once a year and lube chain....it keep going and going.

U.J.M Universal Japanese Motorcycle, anything that has the least plastic bodywork, a Naked Motorcycle.

Straight inline four air cooled if possible.

If you are going to be riding freeways don't get a naked bike as it sucks on the highway due to no fairings to help slice through the wind...but that being said the best low cost naked bike is obviously the Suzuki sv.

What I like about the Suzuki sv is you can get fairings for it even if you buy one used naked. If you see the suzuki sv full fairing it is breathtaking how good it looks.

If I was starting out riding however for the first time and wasn't planning on going on freeways alot, a better bike for the money is the 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250. For the cost of a used naked bike you can get a brand new ninja 250..see videos below.

I'm a fan of the Universal Japanese Motorcycle, but few exist anymore...they're all converting to this plastic fad...ugh. Find yourself an older bike, like the Kawasaki Zephyr 550 or 750, or Yamaha Radian. with low miles. Bulletproof engine, disc brakes front and rear, fast comfy and cheap to insure.

bandits are trash bins on wheeles, don't buy one, you'll regret it!

The SV is a great choice, but Suzuki parts are among the most expensive.

Honda has the cheapest maintainence costs, but I can't think of a naked model that's a street bike, other than something like a shadow...
I started on an old Honda VFR, 55,000 miles and never had to do a damn thing to it, she'd just run and run... till she ran into a ditch... :(, anyhow, I'd stick with honda if I was you.
