Do you ride any type of motorcycle?

I have a dirtbike right now and am in the market for a street bike. Im thinking about either getting a Kawasaki, but no one i know has a street bike so i dont have any frst hand advice. I love cars and dirtbikes, anything that goes fast. im pretty good at knowing cars and dbikes, but i want first hand advice on street bikes. Can comeone help me?

I have ridden since I was old enough to pay my own rent....
I highly recommend something in the 250cc range for a first street bike.... they have enough power to keep a smile on your face and not so much as to get you into trouble for the first year or so....after that step up to a 600cc bike if you have a serious need for speed. if you ignore everything else ... at the very least take a motorcycle safety class....

get a honda cbr600

it's small enough to learn on, and big enough so you won't get bored in 1 season...

if you have experience with a dirtbike then you should have a good foundation.. id reccommend a ninja 500 or a gs 500.. i just think youll out grow a 250 rather quickly.
get yourself into a MSF course, learn the rules of the road. upgrade to a 600 or bigger when your ready :)

You want a dual sport. Go to your dealership and sit on a Suzuki V-Strom 650, a Kawasaki KLR650, and a BMW F 650 GS.

i've been riding street leal since 1978. i have about 750,000
miles under my belt and started out riding a 1975 honda cb500. then i got a gold wing and have rode gold wings ever since i have owned 4 gold wings. a 79' gl1000, 80 gl1100,
84' gl1200 interstate(full dressed), and currently own a 1985 gl1200LTD gold wing. i also owned a 1984 honda V-45
sabre. you will want to take a motorcycle safety class so you
can learn some of the differences from riding in dirt and riding on the street. a good mid size bike like a 600 is
a very good way to start fast enough for freeway use and light enough for a beginning rider. remember this " cars do not see you!". unless the driver in a car is a bike rider they will not look for you at all.they don't even see a full dressed bike
with all the lights, bells ,and whistle.
