Buying my first street bike?

Ok, i wanna get a crotch rocket and i weigh 235lbs at 6'1".. Whats a good size bike in CC's that i wont kill myself on but something i can grow into!! Also take into consideration my height please..

honda cbr600 f4i

A Hayabusa.

We had someone that roadraced with us on an SV650 that was way bigger than you (taller and heavier). I have a friend that is 6' and your weight and he races a YSR50.

Get something small, cheap and used for your first bike. It will even take you a while to "grow" into a EX250. If you don't spend a bunch on it, you should be able to sell it for what you payed.

Insurance on sportbikes, especially 600cc and above, is ridiculous. If you are a new rider on a 1300cc Hayabusa, for example, expect to pay about a THIRD of the value of the bike per year for full coverage. Buy something you can pay cash for and only keep liability coverage on it when you are learning.

If your going for a sport bike I would recommend something with 500cc just because your height is a little big for a 250 bike. You dont want something over powered but 500 cc bike is not to much power but its not under powered. Buy something used that you not going to be upset about if you lay it down. Cause you will lay it down if its your first bike. everyone does...well most people do. Once you get a little experience you can sell it and move up to asomething bigger like a 750 gsxr or a even r1.

ninja500

no offense, but you big guys look ridiculous on crotch rockets
I would suggest a bigger bike that fits you better would be a Suzuki V Strom 650 or 1000, or the SV 650, 1000 these bikes has a bigger frame that's spread out and good ground clearance. It has almost as good performance as a crotch rocket.

You have to sit on each bike you like to determine the level of comfortability you want. If you are just starting out you may want to get an old cheap 500 to build your new instincts on. Don't spend a lot of money on your first bike because you'll burn the clutch, drop it, and just beat it up. After you learn well go ahead and get something nice.
