Which 500-600 street bike do you think is best?

here are the choices (give reasons why as well)

suzuki gs500f
honda cbr600f
yamaha yzf 600 thundercat (not the RR)
kawasaki ninja 500

im looking for my first street bike in the 500 to 600 area. which do you think is best and why?
also feel free to post your own choice

thanks

I have a Suzuki Katana 600 which is the bigger version of the 500( a katana is GSX600F). I'm kind of tall, 6'4, so the Katana was good for me for comfort. It's handle bars are a little higher so it's not so hard on your back. I can ride the bike long distances without a problem. Also, the bike is a little heavier than the others which is good on the highway. You don't get thrown around as much by the wind.

I got my bike almost two years ago. My two final choices were the Katana and the YZF. I ended up picking the Katana because I thought it looked a little better.

My only advice would be to get at least a 600. You will get used to it quickly. The 500 is a good starter bike, but in a few weeks you'll be ready for a bigger bike.

i have only rode the gs500f and it went really well pulls 200 kmh + easy....but im a die hard honda fan so i would go with the cbr dont really know much about the other two but im sure they would be great for a first bike.

The honda cbr600 has the best performance of the ones you listed and the fastest. I have an R6 that is equally as good and it topped out at 178mph stock. Now it has power programmer and exhaust.

Take it from someone with experience.
A 500cc bike is better for the streets
A 600cc bike is better for the freeways/highways

If you feel you are rarely going to ride freeways and maybe never..then get Ninja 500 its more reliable.

If you feel you are going to ride freeways go with the HEAVIER 600cc bike but don't dare go below 600cc for freeways..it is not too safe with a low cc bike on the freeways.

I ride a kawasaki ZZR600 and out of that list - i would go with the Honda CBR for sure.

The Honda cbr600 is by far the best out of the bunch listed. If I could add one , it would be a Suzuki SV650, because it is a twin, making it a better first bike. It has better throttle control and power all thought the RPM range.

All are good choices for "first bike", you can't go wrong with any of them. All are very reliable.

Your list in order of my preference:
YZF 600: The best looking, good power but easy to riding, comfortable, versatile, won't "out grow" soon.

HondaCBR600: Good looking, good power but easy to ride, reasonably comfortable, won't "out grow" soon.

GS500: Decent power, very easy to ride, reasonably comfortable, won't "out grow" to soon, affordable.

Ninja 500: Very easy to ride, decent power, most comfortable, won't "out grow" to soon, affordable, it is the tallest and heaviest.

Good luck!

cbr600

gsx-r 600 or yamaha r6

Yamaha YSF600 is a nice starter bike as well as the Kawaski Ninja ,I have always liked the Katana's as far as sportbikes go but I prefer to ride a Harley
