Do you remember learning to ride a bicycle? |
I'm not the most coordinated person and recall learning to ride a bike as a painful experience. Couldn't keep the thing up and fell down so many times, I refused to continue. My mom insisted she was giving the bike away if I wasn't going to learn. One day some cousins were visiting and they said they'd help me. Sent me down the street and I crashed into a huge rock. For some reason that crash made me mad enough to be determined to ride that thing and I kept on trying till I got it right. i can never forget how i learned to ride, my dad thought me, we were extremely poor and couldnt afford a bike to buy, all my friends had bikes, i was 4, every sunday for 2 hours my dad rented a bike from the neighbourhood bike shop, he thought me how to ride it, sometimes wheni think of this memory, i can still see my dad holding the bike behind me as i am trying to learn, it was easy for me to learn. nice question thanks for bringing up a wonderful memory from my childhood, i am 40 now. i will call him and tell him this, it will make him happy. :) I do remember learning to ride a bicycle and I don't recall having such a harmful time of it! However, in the years to come I had a few bad crashes on one! To include crashing chin first into a graveled road and being taken to the hospital for stitches and to get the gravel out of my chin! You had a good reaction to a bad situation. Determination is a virtue as long as it does not lead to stubbornness. Yes, it was akin to learning to drive a stick shift and makeing love. All kinds of uncertainty. Glad I'm past all of that! I don't remember actually learning, but I do remember a couple of spectacular crashes I had... yes,I remember! I was about 5 when I started to learning.My legs was purple from falling all the time.I learned to ride a bicycle in 3 monthes! yes,my little sister taught me how to ride.i was7 yrs. old and she was 4. I still get teased about it. |
