What makes someone comfortable with their naked body? |
there was a recent picture of some english people riding naked in the street on bicycles. i thought it looked like fun but uncomfortable as far as sitting on that bike seat:) i would try it! why would some people try it and some run away? Kids are entirely unconcerned about nudity (theirs and others). Society and culture teaches that nudity is only OK in certain circumstances, and they absorb that (peer pressure etc.). So, to be comfortable naked in public means that you are able to shrug off that societal influence, or it never 'took' in the first place. haha. yeah that might be really funn. but if ur haveing "trouble" sitting on the bicycle seat...uhmmm.just like, tape a pillow to the seat then ride that ***** like a bull!!! hhaha. jaykay. hha. dudee u should deff add mee on myspace. www.myspace.com/cheerleadergir... if u have a myspace.... hah/ <3amanda myspace.com Some people are more comfortable with nudity than others. I think it has to do with how you're raised, and how much you see others nude when you're younger. Some people just like the feel of the air on their bare skin, and some people feel better all covered up. Different strokes for different folks. I think how you grew up makes a difference. If you're raised to think that being nude is bad, you'd probably be more worried about being naked in public than somebody who wasn't raised that way. I think where you grew up matters, too. I grew up in the Bible Belt South, where people covered up. When I moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, after I grew up, I was shocked by the amount of flesh people showed, whether they were on the beach or off it. I got used to it, and I've come to accept that some people: 1) are more uptight about their bodies than others; 2) are proud of their bodies and want to show them off; and 3) like the feeling of being nude, or nearly nude, and don't care what other people think about their bodies. Getting nude in public is also a good way to draw attention to your cause, just like the bike ride you mentioned. Check out the story about that ride at CNN.com. (Cotton, polyester, rubber pants, etc?) I don't recall being born with that stuff on. |
