How to make a dirt bike street legal in NC? |
any tips would help, but as detailed as possible please. i was thinking about yz 450 f or anything really, ust looking for ideas on bikes, or personal experience, etc. thanks, God Bless I've done an IT 400 and a XR 500. Let me tell you it is for sure more trouble than it's worth. It requires modification of the charging system, installation of a battery, head, tail and turn lights brake switches, turn switches high and low beam switches and all the wiring and fuses that go along with that stuff, You will also need a quiet silencer ( to get it passed) as well as dual purpose tires. Then you have a big fiasco getting it passed, registered and licensed. After all that you will still get pulled over all the time because the cops will recognize it as a dirt bike, even if they don't cite you for anything it still sucks getting stopped. Source(s): Just get yourself a nice enduro and trick it out. You'll save yourself a headache. like a dual sport? just add head/tail lights, signals and mirrors. "Dude...do yourself a favor.Save yourself the headache & hastle Get Either a: Kawasaki KLR650 or a Suzuki DR650.Either one of these bikes is a Pure Dual-Sport Bike w/ all the bells & whistles, ready-to-ride out of the box w/ no mods required. Both bikes are very durable & very well made. What your'e asking for for your dream dirt bike is a whole Big Mess & waste of time and money. The bikes I mentioned are less than $6k Outthedoor. Ride well & be safe outthere" :) "Riding for 9 years; 2hours,7days a week,365 days/a year. 9 States + Canada 2X under my Belt" |
