What is the best bike for street and dirt? |
What is the best bike for street and dirt? Look at the 650cc dual sports. The big 3 seem to be the Kawasaki KLR650, Suzuki DR650, & BMW F650GS. Of these, the Kawasaki & BMW are more street-oriented than the Suzuki. I can personally attest as a DR650 owner that if you get a DR you should buy an aftermarket saddle with it. Another downside to the DR650 is a small gas tank in comparison to the others - I usually fill up every 100-110 miles (I need to get around to installing an aftermarket tank anyway). Don't underestimate these bikes on the street, though. They don't have much in the way of speed (okay, they don't really have anything there; my DR seems to start running out of steam above 60-65), but can run with any sportbike in tight twisties. I have also found that it makes for an excellent commuter bike given the height, extreme maneuverability & rough pavement/off pavement capabilities. Dual sport bikes....Everyone makes one these days with the exception of Harley Davidson. If you want "true" street and dirt I would look at the Kawasaki KLR650 or BMW's. Enduro? BMW G650X hte best bike would be an enduro. it goes on land and dirt. Get a kawasaki KLR 650. this is a good bike. These bikes are mostly used for dirt, so if you do more road riding i would get, something different. I would get a BMW depend how much you want to spend my friend,if you want some thing betwin $2000 and 4000 dls get a honda xr 650 fast good and cheap for the long run or 5000dls up you have 2 options ktm the duke 996 or my favore monster bmw r 1200 ,the best its going to be the duke ktm but the bmw r 1200 its more big and luxury . have fu n Lots of good answers here, but nobody is mentioning the Suzuki DRZ 400. Great bike, more dirt worthy than anything anyone has mentioned and no slouch on pavement either. For the 650's you can't beat the Honda XR650L for dirt riding, and you can't beat the KLR 650 for the value. If you have the money and you don't mind the spotty dealer network look at a KTM. If you're a BMW fan get a BMW, but don't expect to be able to keep up with anyone off road. Pricey too. For what the BMWs cost you could buy the XR650L, KLR 650, or DRZ 400 and have three grand left over for aftermarket goodies and gear. ck out the suzuki drz400 drz400sm is a dirt bike with street tires dealer said u can buy extra rims with dirt tires to switch em out drz400 n dr650 r real nice as well i would imagine the dirt tires won't have as much gripe on ashalt |
