Are there any Automatic Street Bikes? |
Does Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki or other smaller brands make an Automatic Street Bike? It can be small... 250cc or so... Dont want nothing too big or fast, no need for it. Me Id love to get a V-Star or Honda VTX models or Harley V Rods with Automatic mode. Fine for scooters OK. But To have a WILD HOGS experience Id need a AT street bike above 250cc. Just add AT module to stock Yamaha Star motorbike. Simple & EZ. Hello Honda, Yamaha, Harley, Ducatti, For we older Boomers. Last bike I rode was Honda 70 minibike & yes had AT. Tiny scooters are almost all automatics. Honda had a 750 Hondamatic around 1980. Still show up on eBay. Not in recent years, I think. I remember a few years back Honda made an automatic version of the Pacific Coast 800. stick with your car we have enough sissys on the road. but if you need one for economy look into mopeds they have a few nice looking ones out there all makes go to e-bay lol Most street bikes currently are manual shift ... however in time might have more "street bike" models with automatic transmissions in future. The last few years has had a boon of offerings from top manufacturer offering more real life version scooters that are auto shift, offers more power for getting around town or highway in all lanes. These are more the lines of the Honda Silver Wing boasting 580cc of scooter go power. Some owners I've talked with has got up to 110mph, although I wouldn't recommend such speeds. Yet enough power to keep you sanely flowing along the highway if need be, and definitely cruising around town while lightly sipping fuel. They also have a Reflex scooter that has 250cc scooter power for zipping around town at a comfortable pace. Yamaha also offers their Majesty with a 500cc motor. Also their Morpheus with a 250cc motor. Either way, you get the feel of two wheels freedom without all the machismo worry of shifting gears on a motorcycle. However, the price tag on these models can cost more than a decent & recent used manual motorcycle. Whatever your choice, when it comes to two wheels ... ride sane, ride safe. Cars don't notice scooters just as much as they don't notice motorcycles on the streets. No matter how safe you ride. I would also recommend taking a motorcycle safety riding class ... it can offer you skill techniques for riding safety and your insurance might give you a discount for it. Best wishes & God bless. http://powersports.honda.com/scooters... http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/produc... I'm with Backlog. Automatic motorcycles...sheez. |
