I am fairly new to street riding what is a good bike to use?

Well I rekon you should get a bike with hard bike wheels for rough road or you could buy a used one its much cheeper or you could buy a it even cheeper one of a friend. Remember even if its dirt cheep check if its safe or you'll end paying the price by falling off! Source(s): Me I lov cycling.

kona bikes are good the kona dawg is a good one.
If you look you can probably find a good used bike for that. Check to see if there are any local bike clubs with a news letter, they let most members advertise for free , you might find a good bike there. Also check the local paper classifieds.
I would say with 250 you could get a fairly decent Diamondback
