Who do bike riders stay on the street, why not use the sidewalk? Bicycles are subject to the same laws that govern motor vehicles in most states, hence cyclists must adhere to the same rules as motorists as much for their own safety as for the safety of others. In many cities it is required to use the road and illegal to use the sidewalk. Best question ever! People that ride there bikes on the road are in my way! Bikes are considerd "vehicles" and it's actually against the law to operate a vehicle on the sidewalk. Sidewalks are exactly that they're called "side walk" - as in walk along the side of the street... the law says you have to treat a bike like another vehicle.. so i assume they have to follow all the laws for cars.. which means no driving on the sidewalk :( |
