S500F First Bike?

I am 5'8" and weigh 140. I am looking into getting a street bike and I was going to go small for my first bike but I dont want to have to get a new one in a few months to a year because ive grown out of the small one. I was looking at the Suzuki GS500f. I was wondering if this would be to big or what? Any tips?

Also try the Ninja 650R you will love it
is the best bike you can have as a first bike and even is going to be yor bike for a long time
I'd say that is a perfect starter bike. Good choice. The SV650 would also be a good choice.
Good choice. You should also try sitting on a Kawasaki Ninja 500 before committing to buy the 'zuke.
do you have the money put back to repair the bike for when you lay it down? have you taken a motorcycle safety course? both of these will be great tips. go to the MSF website(http://www.msf-usa.org) to find a place near you that gives the courses, they will rent you a bike to use for the course.

a first bike should not be more than 400cc, in fact the MSF requires their classes to use bikes under 400cc because of the expense of repairs when students lay down the bikes, and Most people can not safely handle a larger bike when they are just starting.

I am 6'0" and fit comfortably on the Kawasaki EX250
