Im Getting my Motocycle license what kind of bike should i get? |
Im 18 and never rode a motorcycle im looking at street bikes. So what do you guys sugest? i will be hopefully getting mylicense soon and finish the bike training. Do not get a crotch rocket , especially for a first bike , that is all about image , and speed . Get a bike built for traveling you will enjoy it much more , because you will spend more time on it , and actually go places instead of trying to show off , and ending up pinned under a truck. Girlfreinds are much more comfortable on a Classic Style than a Crotch rocket. CB 750, if you can handle the weight ,Better yet , the 500T 4 stroke Fun, comfortable, just the right amount of power , and they look good , get an older one in good shape. Your insurance company will thank you. And you will live longer. http://images.google.com/images?q=cb500t... Source(s): riding for over 20 years u should buy a mid range bike such as honda, aprilia, and much more. www.honda/bikes.com type in keyword 4 mid range bikes in ur google or firefox... Most who want a bike laugh at what I'm bout to say....but those that have owned and riden, don't laugh, for they know its the truth. Since its first and you are 18....you will automatically want to nail this baby full throttle, no matter what you say. So anything in the 600 or larger range....you might as well save you cash and buy a coffin, literally, not joking. You need to start out on a 250, she will easily do 110mph and you can still easily die at those speeds. It will allow you to learn how to ride, how to lean, the weight, how to become one with a bike, won't be over powerful or toss you off the back, if you get into tight situation and gun it by accident, you don't have 600+ sitting under you that is gonna take you for a rougher ride. I learned on a 600 and I bought killed myself, miracle I am even here today. It scared me off the bike and I haven't ridden since. Don't let the same happen to you, for I wish I could ride...but my white knuckles say otherwise. Mate WELCOME TO THE CLUB you will love it, I'm in Australia and terrorize the country on a Honda vtr250 have been Mackay /Brisbane return twice about 700 mls or 1000 klms one way cost me about $100 round trip in fuel, bikes 2mths old and have put 13500 klms on it. top speed 145 klms and got 175 klms before I ran out of fuel, If I sit on 110klms (70mph) I can get 300 klms that before reserve and I'm a big lad. The bikes a bit slow in the hills but HAY who cares?? Depending on where you are you may find that there is size restrictions for learner riders. I am in Australia, and in some states of Aussie, learner riders have to do a rider education course of some sort before, they legally ride on the road. There is also a size limit on the bike, I think its 250, after about 12 months you can up size. I can not stress that start of on a smaller sized bike, until you have had some experience on the road. Sadly you will drop the bike at least once, any real bike rider will agree. If you can afford to do a rider course do so, and ensure you have all the correct gear for riding, Kevlar/leather jacket, pants and boots, helmet is a given. Honda, Aprilia are great bikes to start out on. My wife wants a Vesper or Yamaha virago, which is great bike for women to learn on. Good luck and safe & happy riding |
