Looking to buy my first dirt bike?

Im 5"4 ..I have had a street bike for 6 yrs. So now im looking to get a dirt bike maybe honda 250?All my buddies are telling me that i will get bored of it in no time. But im also only 5"4 so i dont want to be on my tippy toes at stopping moments.

get a crf230 or get a crf250x but get the shocks lowered

It depends on what type of riding you are doing, if you are just looking to putt around, you may want something smaller (125), but if you are looking to go racing, you might check into a 200 or 250.

See if you can test drive a buddy's 250 before you buy. If you ride in the rain and the mud, it's hard to push a bike that's heavy.

My husband is 6 feet, he has a YZ 125 and it has enough power for him.
you won't get bored that is a great bike !!!!!!!!!! a little big for a beginner how about a Yamaha yz85 it was my first bike and it served me well!it also depends on where you live kuz i live in Texas and we are naturals at it but no offense if you live in rode island you might need a smaller bike!again no offense!!!!!
i would get the Honda crf 250 if you are any good at riding you can handle it. cause i was riding 450s at 15 years old they were alot of power but nothing i couldn't handle. but that's a little much for a beginner so i would say either the 250 or the 125 would be the right bike for you and stick with Honda there the way to go.
It depends mostly on your skill level and what you would be most comfortable. I have a honda CR 250 and will smoke anyone on it. its a 2 stroke. The only bike that might give me a hard time would be a 450cc four stroke of some type.if your inexperienced and short i would recommend something like a honda CRF 250(4 stroke). If your very inexperienced i would even go as low as a CRF 150
