Will new motorcyclists in Alberta have a restriction on displacement of bike?


I heard that new 1st year riders in Alberta, Canada will only be able to ride street bikes 250cc and under, is this true?

I have no idea, but it only makes sense. Far too many riders get their licence after learning on a smaller bike, and immediately buy a 750 cc or larger bike, thinking they know how to ride now, and crash at 150 km/hr into a semi or a tree. In my opinion, if a new rider can't have enough fun on a 250cc bike, he shouldn't bother, he is going to be dangerous.
