What do you need to do to make a dirt bikes street legal in California? |
What do you need to do to make a dirt bikes street legal in California? Not sure its possible in Cali as the EPA tests are different to rest of USA. They dont just do normal exhaust emmisions like everyone else they do a PPM test for specific particulate matter. I think Yamaha are the only manufacturor who payed the $100,000 plus fee to use 'normal' EGA machines, for CO, CO2, unburned Hydrocarbons, etc You would be better off getting a used street legal dual sport bike and modifying it for off road. : ) brake light head light and check out http://www.dmv.ca.gov/ basically need to add, lights, stop light and directionals. Also, a holder to hold the license plate with a light over the plate No can do. Even with lights, and signals, the engine is not EPA certified, also the tires are non-DOT (yes, I know they sell DOT knobbies). Try Thumper Racing, and Baja Designs, but don;t say I didn;t warn you. |
