Are pocket bikes street legal in sc? its a 49cc and goes 45 mph.? They aren't street legal anywhere in Canada or the US. Why would you want to be on the street anyway? Your head would be in line with the bumpers of pick-up trucks and SUVs, and the drivers couldn't see you. You would not live a day. That is why they are not street legal. Yeah, totally not legal. I read somewhere a little while back when pocket bikes were the rage that a motor under 50cc isnt really considered as a motorized vehicle since the engine is so small...we took advantage of this and used to tear around on them along with some xr50s and eton quads...the cops used to give us crap for them but we never got in trouble or got a ticket unlike the bigger bikes and atvs...the local law enforcement doesnt really take them seriously if your just riding around but i know alot of cities put bans on street riding them atleast in ct. however you should be fine riding around on backroads as they are pretty quiet and not really a risk to anyone but yourself but try to avoid busy roads as its hard for cars and trucks to see someone riding something less than 2 ft tall lol...good luck and have fun |
