Do lost/abandoned bikes on street go to the Police?
If recovered, the Police then inventory them. then, the bikes, and other recovered items will be auctioned off. Watch your newspaper.

Where I came from, abandoned or recovered bicycles went to the Propert Clerk's Office and about 4 times a year they would auction of bikes that had been unclaimed for 60 days or more. The money went to the City, not the PD.
If you abandon your bike around here the kids down the street get them.
