Is A 998cc Yamaha Yzf R1, A good choice for a First Bike???

i really want an R1, should i get it, thats my favorite bike, ive heard that R1 is a smooth Sport bike, Good For Street racing, I like r1 cause you can find parts easy, should i get it, in a couple of years as my first bike, i know where i can get one for a good deal, I know all info about R1, Ive seen this dude thats 18 that has one and he told me it's a nice fast bike, should i get it, i wanna know from all people that might own this bike or rode it or know info on it

for a first bike the R1 is way too quick so you say that you know all the numbers then you know that the friggin bike makes as much hp as a neon and weighs way less it is a nice smooth bike but i can tell you this my track bike is a R6 and my street bike is a R1 why is that because racing belongs on the track and with the R1 it is very easy to slip a rear tire in a corner even the pros do it all the time you should start on the R6 you will think it is very fast and you don't need to be so easy on the gas for a first bike the R1 is just too much if you have done so much research on the R1 why don't you do some riding research and you will find out that the people who race bikes like the EX500 very rarely use the bike to its fullest so a R1 is just a waste of cash but what i say don't matter to you so just make sure your organ donor card is signed
1000cc for your first bike huh, hope you like hospitals
Your first bike should be a Harley 883 sportster
you are so dead if u get that bike....i suggest u get a moped and work ur way up...motorcycles are alot more than just cool (ie. much training and expeirience is needed)....if you have never wrecked a motorcycle (like a mini-bike, dirt bike) you certainly dont need to be hopping on a crotch rocket like that...you will go into a turn to fast, get scared, straighten up, and BLAM ur dead!!!...thats what most newbie riders do...dont be that guy
My best friend is a stunter and he has an R1. I've seen him do his stunts on it and crashed a lot. But the bike still holds together, He let me ride it a few times and do some tricks. It had excellent throttle response and plenty of horsepower for a beginner or even an advanced rider. He said it was an excellent bike to learn on and a great bike to become good on. Plus, they are really easy to find parts for. 9 out of the 10 bike shops or websites I've visited have plenty of parts for the R1. I have a YZF600 and it is somewhat similar to the R1. It isn't in the same horsepower range or what not but, it is fairly close. Yeah, the R1 is strong as a rock and is a good bike to learn on in my opinion.
These are some good sites for parts for the R1:
cscbikes.com
patricksperformance.com
As an employee of a bike dealership working in parts and service, I say buy one... they're great for business.
As a fellow motorcycle rider that would like to see you live a long and happy life with the ability to walk and have sex... I say buy a Ninja 250 for a first bike.
