What is the best street motorcycle for less than $8,000, new.?

Criteria: It must be new, not used. It must be a true street or dual sport bike, not an offroad or super motard bike.

SV650 is still the best bang for the buck and great all-around bike...of course I'm biased...

I'm the old school cruiser type. Not sure what style of bike you're interested in but for my money I'd buy Suzuki C50 which is a fat fendered/fat fuel tank cruiser. If something more "chopperesque" is more your style then go with a Suzuki S50. Sport bike riders have their favs. Those are mine.
