What is a really great kind of Pocket Bike suitable for a 12 year old? |
I was thinking sort of like a 49cc or 47cc. Which brand is best? Giovanni or...? Are the dirt bike type ones better or are the street racing looking ones better? My son wants one. Help please. HAHA, i was 12 two years ago and i wanted one too, i got one, dont get a two stroke one, my neighbor had a 49cc and i had a 47cc, you should spend the extra few hundred and get the 110cc, it is a 4-stroke so it goes the same speed, they say they go 65mph but they only go 40 and its the same speed as the 49cc. To be honest with you I wouldn't recommend any. I don't like them your hunched over and the first thing your gonna hit is your head. I started my son on a Honda 100cc at 11 but I also told him the first time I hear it reving up I was gonna take the carb off and he wouldn't see it again. Hes very responsible but I give him a short rope. Helmet gloves and boots that cover his ankles.You be the judge you wouldn't drive a car you dont trust. Experience I had a Honda 70 when I was 12. Now I ride a Harley Street Glide. It will be a mistake getting one. My kids are 9 and 12 and been riding before walking. My oldest now rides a KX 80, He almost broke his neck on this pocket rocket and it was electric. Just my opinion but they are just way to dangerous. Hard to maneuver and remember he will be riding it on concrete. get him a KTM, 65 or a KX65 even a TTR 90 is a good bike to learn to ride on.
