Most street friendly literbike? |
I'm thinking that one day way off in the future (probably next year, knowing me) I'll sell my CBR 600 and go for a liter bike. Which one is the best suited for street riding? You know, power at the low and middle range, stable/smooth steering, riding position that isn't torture? I would guess the 1000RR since Hondas seem to aim that way, but what about the GSXRs and R1s? ZX10 seems like it's kind of a panicky beast...don't know that I'd want that. Going from a 600 to a 1000 all of the available bikes will have much more low and mid range power then you are used to. Chances are, any one of them you wold be happy with (power wise). The GSXR1000 is the most stable and comfortable. The R1 & the CBR1000 are great bikes, but are a little more aggressive in the seating position... similar to your bike. The ZX10 is a handfull.... the engine is peaky and the handling is twitchy. I would recommend the GSXR1000, but go ride them and you may fall in love with one of the others. Source(s): Riding for 13 years, 11 on liter sport bikes. I assume you want a spotbike ? I own a 06 Suzuki GSX-R1000 and I love it. I've riden the CBR1000RR and the R1 both are great bikes but the "Gixxer" just fits me best. It has the most mid range of all the liter bikes of said year (not my opinion, it's what the dyno numbers say). It would be best to try all three bikes before buying one but if you can't, I say go with the Suzuki I find the gsxr riding position to be cramped compared to the honda and yamaha, the yamaha has the most leg room if youre tall. Kawasaki KZ1000P. Nice and comfy. Just ask the Highway Patrol; it's what they ride. I loved mine; had to get rid of it though 'cause I just couldn't take having people waving me over wanting me to arrest bad guys. |
