Is it legal to park on street corners in California?

When I am turning left (uncontrolled 3-way intersection, no stop signs/yield, etc) on the street right off my work's employee parking lot, people's cars are ALWAYS parked all the way up to the corner of the intersection (on the street). I cannot see a friggin thing and I'm halfway into the street I'm attempting to turn left onto before I can see anybody coming in either direction. One of these days, I know I'll get broadsided/T-boned.

I can't believe it's legal to park inside that dotted white line (where the bike lane's solid white line becomes broken white line 20 approx feet before any intersection. You know, the place where cars turning right are supposed to start veering into to keep from getting slammed in the rear before they can turn right. There is always some bonehead parked in this place because they are too lazy to park in the open spots in the lot 100 feet further away than the middle of the intersection.

Anyone know? (I don't ever park there, regardless)

Its fifteen feet and usually a red curb.
Who cares, you are prob a bad driver.
supposed to be 20 feet. the curb is usually painted yellow. it does suck when you cant see around these idiots but cali is rediculously overpopulated. I guess its something you have to live with.
All cities and municipalities have parking by-laws that prohibit parking within a certain distance of an intersection on city streets. Safety being the main issue. Just call the local by-law officer and they will ticket the offending vehicles.
There are a lot of areas like commercial zones or large apartment complexes where the available street parking is way less than sufficient, so the police will use discretion with the tickets. HOORAY for them!

Buy a pickup truck so you can see over the cars.
Such zoning is local but you can complain to the police department. Usually it is illegal to park within 10 feet of a mailbox, crosswalk, fireplug, intersection etc.
