Where can I get a bike for not a lot of money? |
I'm new to biking, and so I don't need anything extravagant, just something for the street. TRY WALMART craigslist or the newspaper would be a good place to buy a "starter" bike. You can get some used ones at one sweet deal at either one. Try Tag Sales in your area - seems there has been a bike for cheap at every tag sale I'v been to this season. Kinda depends where u live Depends on what "not a lot of money" means. Really, for just running to and from places around town, wal-mart isn't a bad choice. They have started putting a bit more decent components on their bikes. If you want to go slightly better, maybe a local sporting goods store. Or, bike shops should start clearing out last years models soon and you should be able to get a pretty decent sub $300 bike (my bro rides one offroad). Ask them if they have used ones and could get a pretty nice one they guarantee to work for you. Goto a Local Bike Shop and buy a Trek or something. Don't goto Wal-mart, just because your new it doesn't mean you have to buy junk. best bike for the money is Ibex bike, on line sales only, carefully follow their online sizing advice or call them, I swear you will not be disappointed I have trophy pro model mountain bike and love it, they have no overhead (bike shop building rent, huge markups) the bikes come nearly assembled, find a mobile bike repair in your area for maintenance, I saved about $800.00 dollars building up a bike from their frame, find them on line, beautiful bikes. |
