What is the Best Crotch Rocket for the money? |
Im looking for the best of the best street bike for the money. I want to spend around 5,000 and want to know whats the best. If you're in the US, about the only thing you can get under $5000 is the Kawasaki Ninja 250. It has more power than your off road two fifty and will do around 110 mph. They're $2999 new and average 75 mpg. This is the best value for the money. If you're not in california you might be able to get a Hyosung Comet 250. These are great little bikes, at least the engines are. Hyosung used to be Suzuki's engine supplier so they know what they are doing. If you want something used, I'd still recommend the 250 but that $5000 will get you a little farther. Suzuki GS500 and the Ninja 500 are also excellent values. These have more than enough power for commuting and still get good mileage, around 50 mpg. The SV650 is also a great choice but is a little excessive in the power department and everyone else already has one. They're grossly undervalued because the're so common, used ones going for less than $3000. Good luck, buy what you like Bike magazine is the place to look, they have a listing of new and used bikes with a star rating .When it comes to being the best you will be asking the wrong question, the right question is,what is the right bike for you.The answer to this will be based on your experience and requirements.I have to assume two things here, one you are newish to bikes and two that crotch rocket (new one on me)means you want a sports bike.I would reccomend one of the 400cc sports bikes like a ZXR400 Kawasaki or a Suzuki Bandit 600 or a Honda Hornet.But remember you will crash it so dont spend tooo much or be attracted by acres of plastic fairing as it is expensive to replace, however saying this a fantastic cheap reliable option is the cb600 honda been around for 15 years,very quick ,coverd in plastic but should be some loved bargains but be wary of boy racers although very bullet proof engine.P My brain What is your riding experience? TRY A CBR 600 OR A YZF600 GREAT NEWBIE BIKES AND THEY LOOK GOOD TOO! go to cycletrader.com type in ur state and u can find cheap bikes there. also u can pick up a copy of cycle trader in ur local gas station. i would have to say a suzuki gsxr600, because a 600 is bike that u can keep forever and don't have to upgrade if u don't want to; to a bigger bike.........I HAVE ONE.......... |
