I dropped my motorcycle helmet, Help? |
I kind of, sort of, dropped my helmet. On the side, where the face shield connects to the main frame of the helmet(it is a full face, street bike helmet), where the shield can move up and down, there is the black piece that allows it to move. A little triangle snapped off of it, and now it won't stay on. I tried to glue it, but I don't think its going to hold. The helmet is an ICON Hooligan Mainframe The piece number might be REV.002, those are the only numbers on it. It's the black piece that you can unscrew. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN BUY A REPLACEMENT PART? Thankk Youuu The ICON website is VERY irritating to navigate, and I can't get a link to pop up, BUT I did see a pivot kit listed there that I think you would need to fix it. See if you can do any better than I did, I did see a pivot kit though. Here's the website: http://www.rideicon.com/ Source(s): I had more time to look, I found one place online that sells it, just as an example. I'd think the place who sold you the helmet could get this. Icon says it should cost $10 http://www.sandhillspowersports.com/sand... Never use a helmet once it has dropped over one foot. Any amount of impact will weaken the integrity of your helmet. Find the part at a helmet dealer, other wise you helmit is fine it is a Snell approved helmet , and wont be damaged to the point where you cant count on its safty to protect your nugget in a crash. ive dropped a shoei and an arai just as bad with minor scratches, and damaged shields and the shoei protected me just fine in one of my unfortunate accidents even after it fell off my motorcycle seat. I agree with the above. You might also buy yourself a Motor Cyclist magazine and look in the classified ads for dealers who sell the Icon helmet model you own. If they sell the helmet, chances are they also sell the parts for the helmet. Or you can call Icon directly. They have a contact page on the website and are usually pretty good at getting back to you quickly. Fill it out and see how it goes. Also, check with dennis kirk (http://www.denniskirk.com They may have the part you're looking for too. 12 years and 200,000 plus miles on my 2 bikes. fix it |
