What is a good fast street motorcycle? |
i'm wondering what a good reasonably sized bike would be, ive riden dirtbikes and i'm not completly new to the idea of a motorcycle and ive riden before and i can handle a reasonably sized bike, i dont want anything huge probably like a 500 but what are good bikes to look at for a reasonable price? Unless you've got some real experience or training or both on liter bikes then you have no business on one ! I see these idiots constantly throwing out suggestions like ZX-14, Busa's,R-1's etc. and these bikes and there ilke are NOT for beginners. Learn the dynamics of riding before adding tons of power to the equation. Test ride a 500 ninja and since you've already rode dirt bikes this maybe a little small so then try the 600's. There are none better then the next, they are all excellent it's what fits you. Many times the 600's will beat the bigger bikes due to fact that they are lighter and easier to launch not to mention easier to ride aggressively in the corners. Just don't fall for some dumb a&&'s idea of a bigbore for a beginner. We call them ORGAN DONERS ! buy Japanese..Honda Yahama etc. Most reliable... Look at a Kawasaki concours 14. It is the fastest tourer out there and is big enough to haul all of your golf clubs. Buy American, Go Harley Davidson all the way. 8})>[+ I used to own a Suzuki GT-380. It had 150 mph on the speedometer. I had it up to 120, then backed off. It was a good fast bike. I would have to say from past experience, you are wasting your time with a 500cc. My first bike was a Suzuki gsx-r 750. If you bought a 500, you will be wanting more power in just a couple of months. I ride a Suzuki C50T, they also make an S40, which is 600 or 650cc. Very comfortable, plenty of power, not overly pricey. |
