Yamaha Virago Street motorbike owners, power boost?

I have a Virago 535 cc twin V-engine 1999, my question is, how can i boost it's power? any advice about valves, carb, spark plugs, fuel system, what? i thought these bastards could do over 160 km/h mine never reached this figure!! i have another bike it's only a 200 cc racer maneuvers very well but no much power, so the 535 is my only chance to reach higher speeds, thanks in advance

Easiest way is to get a straight through exhaust, this'll let the engine breathe more easily, then, at the same time, get it rejetted to match your new exhaust. You could spend a bit more and get a Hypercharger fitted, these replace the air filter box and let even more air in, so again you'd need it rejetted. You can go for a rebore, but if you do that you may as well just get a bigger bike.

Hope this helps.

try sucking on the exhaust
Do they make speed parts for that bike ??

Get a aftermarket free flow exhaust, K&N filter and rejet the carbs.
If you are willing to spend some money, buy new pistons that are larger than your current pistons, and take the motor and the new pistons to the machine shop to be re-bored. .60 over pistons will up your engine to 610-625 cc which will be a good start.
