Some tips to be a good street or drag, motorcycle racer? |
my bike is yamaha X-1 Well the Yamaha X-1 is just an amazing race bike. How do you manage all that Horse power. Here is a link to the bike being raced - http://www.yingyongmotorcycle.com/yamaha... If you are serious about racing the first thing you need is a race bike. Then start by going to track day schools and learn what they can teach you. Go there open to learn. learn body potition learn braking (braking wins races) Then go faster than the other guy Make sure you have alot of money, racing to win is not cheap. Good Luck and have fun Source(s): track day insturctor, racer For drag racing and getting off the line quick. Know where your engine makes peak tourque, either from the owners manual or a dyno run if your bike is modified. On the line check your tach and hold your RPM at the peak tourque level. When the light goes green let the clutch handle spring forward and crank the throttle WFO. Remember, you need max tourque, not HP to get off the line. HP will come in handy after your moving. Shift each time your tach hits the peak tourque mark. Don't let off the throttle or use the clutch. Hit the kill button, quickly snap into the higher gear and release the button. This takes practice !!!! Go get 'em and good luck !!!! Many years of riding Keep it on the track or dragstrip. I love scaring the crap outta you twerps on the road when you try that junk. Plus it's illegal dude! |
