I need help in deciding to buy either a new yamaha YZF- R6 or a YZF R1. Which one should I go for? |
I know how to ride bikes decently, but this is going to be my first street sport bike. I am having the hardest time choosing between the R6 and R1. Based on looks I want the R1 with it powerful 998 cc engine, but since I don鈥檛 have much street experience I was thinking maybe the R6 with a smaller yet powerful 600 cc engine might be a better choice. Are there any riders out there that might give me some advice and help me choose between either one of them? go for the R1 its just and all around bad *** bike heres a nice R6 from my myspace http://a953.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/ima... a fool and his money are soon parted. a fool and his motorcycle are soon parted. Get the one you want.. I went to yamaha to get my bike i would just say get the biggest engine on your bike that you can afford.. You wont regret it.. And get the one you want not just the one you can afford. if ur looking for speed get the R1, but if ur looking for speed and agility then get the R6, both bikes are pretty much identical but the R1 once you shift to the big hole begin's to leave the R6 that is the differnce between the two.. must be hard being spoiled I had a honda cbr 900 rr and I had a little suzuki katana 600.....The 900 had all the power in the world, but the katana was actually easier to ride because of weight. It didnt have the power of the 900 but it was a peppy little thing. If you want to brag that you got the R1 then get it, but if decently is all you know how to ride, it may be a little much. Tons of power but the weigh a ton as well....Then 600 is a more versatile bike and not nearly as tiring to ride. Well man first of all bigger is not always better, and in your case it definately isn't. I would go with the R6 man. The new 600s have so much more power these days than they used to and I think it will be more than enough for ya. But, I would suggest considering the R1 after a couple years of street experience since some people do grow out of the 600s and need....(want) more power. If you don't have that street experience man the only thing that R1 is gonna do is get you in a lot of trouble or worse..injured. I've been riding for about 4 or 5 years now and also was on a sportbike stunt team for a while man, and the best thing I ever did was start on a GSXR600....then I moved up to the liter bikes. Even then I went down at about 115 mph...on an 05 GSXR1000, lucky to be here. Those new R6's are wicked anyway dude. Go for the 6.....have fun man and hope my advice helped. |
