When talking motercycles, Is there a magic decoder ring? How do I make sence of all these prefix codes...? |
I just want a street legal bike I can thrash out in the hills with too. But I have no idea what to look at in the paper. CMX, CRF, KLR, TTR, CBR, XLR, XR, CR, CRF, TC, KX, KDX, KTM, GSX, GSXR, RMZ, YZF, YZ, 185DS, RM... ??? Do I need to hire a translator? Yes, all the different model codes can be confusing to someone who isn't familiar with motorcycle brands and models. Perhaps the easiest way to figure out what they all are is to go to the manufacturer's web sites and look at the pics of all the new bikes. Once you find a few styles and sizes that you like, then you can look for those particular codes in the for-sale ads. Here's some manufacturer's web sites to get you started... Source(s): http://powersports.honda.com/index.asp?b... http://www.suzukicycles.com http://www.kawasaki.com/ http://www.yamaha-motor.com/ http://www.harley-davidson.com/... I found the Enigma code breaker worked best. you can find one on E-Bay. It sounds like you are looking for a "Dual Sport" bike so you could start looking for that term! osk CMX, is a snowmobile CRF,Honda four stroke motocross bike KLR,Kawasaki TTR, Yamaha trail bike just below WR CBR, hoda street bike XLR, no clue XR, same as a TTR but a honda CR, honda 2 stroke motocross bike CRF, you already asked that TC, dont know KX, kawaski two stroke motocross bik KDX, no clue KTM, n austrian motorcycle company GSX, Suzuki street bike GSXR, Same a GSX but higher performance RMZ, Suzuki Four stroke motocross bike YZF, Yamaha four stroke motocross bike YZ, yamaha 2 stroke motocross 185DS, no clue RM, Suzuki 2 stroke motocross bike buy America... 'buy a Harley... buy the best.. drive a mile... walk the rest...' |
