My friend is selling a late '80's Honda 400cc sportbike. What's a fair price to ask? |
I'm not 100% sure what the model name is. I think It's an '89 Honda CB400, but I could be wrong. Basically, he's been on dirtbikes since before he could walk, and took excellent care of this bike - his first street motorcycle. It's never been dropped, has been VERY well maintained, and runs beautifully. He's asking $3000 for the bike, but I'm not sure if this is too high, given that you can get a brand new Ninja 250 or used 500 for a similar price. Any advice? 1989 Honda CB400F CB1 is the model you a asking about. A fair price if he's your friend is about $1500 or less. Kelly Blue Book price is $1755 retail and $1175 trade-in value. No matter what the condition...just do the math....it's a 17 year old motorcycle. Try the Kelly Blue Book website to see if you can find the markey value. www.kbb.com 3,000 is way too high... 1500-2000 is more like it, although if it was total cherry and you manage to find a buyer who really wants a retro 400cc bike, you might get slightly more. Too much. 1000$ is too mush for it , if its really clean one it Worth the 1000$ not more blue book will say about $300, but i will say $1500 to $2000 $3000 is too high, you can get new 400cc for that much. i have cb450t from 82, just to tell you, i got it in 2005 and was $1500 |
