Hello, I am new to scooters. I have neither owned or driven one. I have been looking online to purchase a scooter, and found a "VERUCCI Avispa 10D". The Verucci is one of the many Chinese scooters out there. You will want to check out the forums at www.scootdawg.com and www.scooterbbs.com for opinions and reviews. The general consensus in these froums is DO NOT purchase from an on-line drop shipper as you will probably receive NO warranty, parts, or service support. If possible find an established dealer with a real shop. trust me on this iv driven loads of scooters. get a yamaha aerox. it has a decent top speed. very reliable. water cooled so the engine will last alot longer. it is the best moped out there. trust me. they dont cost any different from any other moped but is far far better. If a top speed of around 30-35 mph is adequate, a 49cc scooter may not require registration or insurance . . the statutes in every state are different . . check state DMV website. The Verucci Avispa 50 is physically a little larger than most scooters in this category, and the design allows a more comfortable "angled" foot position. The core 139QMB spec 49cc 4-stroke engine (and variable pully drive unit) used in most China scooters has a generally reliable reputation . . the gremlins are usually electrical, instrument, or fuel system related. Check for used values on your regional Craigslist > for sale > motorcycles. |
