HD Fans: Compare the new Dyna family bikes?

So lets say some guy was going to jump ship on what he HAS been riding for 20 years and move to the Dark Side. If this theoretical guy was looking at 07 and 08 Dynas, what would you suggest out of the 4 (?) in that class of bike (Superglide and Superglide Custom, Street Bob and Wideglide) I think I have them listed from cheapest to most expensive, with the Wideglide probably being a bit out of this guys price range, but the others seem to be achievable. Just looking for input from the experienced HD riders that might be hanging out.

I'm kind of partial to the plain old Super Glide because it doesn't have a lot of flash. That's just my preference.
I'm not a big fan of the Wide Glide.
I like the color combos available for the Street Bob. The jury is still out on the mini apes. Love the blacked out engine.
The Custom is nice too.
The newest dyna I have ever piloted was a 2000 Low Rider. It handled well for a heavy bike and had a lot of **** and git.
I think you will be happy with any one of them.
Choose wisely grasshopper.
THE NEW BIKES ARE CHEAP AND UGLY , AND WAY OVER PRICED . I WAS LOOKING AT THEM AND WALKED AWAY . YOU NEED TO PAY A EXTRA $10,000 IN CHROME TO MAKE THEM LOOK AS GOOD AS THE OLD ONES , THATS B.S. KAWASAKI , HONDA , AND SUZUKI HAVE WAY NICER , BETTER LOOKING , CHEAPER CRUISERS NOW THAN HARLEY HAS EVER HAD ... CUT PRODUCTION COSTS AND NEVER LOWER YOUR PRICE = LOSING CUSTOMERS
Superglide, the street bob and wideglides are really ugly, they're too sporty or something. i'm a fan of more classic looking bikes like the road glide or fatboy.
First off the Dyna's ride is a whole lot better than the Wide Glides. Second this HD rider would buy a cheaper used model and customize it himself. But if I just had to have a new one and I didn't go after a Road King or FLH but I had to have a Big Twin I'd go for the cheap one the Super Glide and then I would customize it the way I want so it didn't look like everyone else'.
So just exactly what is the light side you have been riding for 20 years?
Hey Harley girl, I have a Fat Boy wanna go ridin with me?????
Actually the Fat Boy rides like a Fat Boy. It rides like it's bottomed out. I kind of inherited the bike so I don't want to off it just yet. But if I did I would go for some kind of Dyna (actually I liked the discontinued FXDS Convertible) or I would go for an FL of some sort. Right now I'll stick with my Sporty's cause they'll out run those Big Twins any day of the week Wooo Hooo!!!!!!
I thought you said family bikes....I was about to call my wife.
I would look for an older bike and save a few thousands. You get more chrome and you can take that extra thousands and customize it the way you want it and end up with a kick *** scoot........ look on Craigslist.com and you can usually find some great deals on used bikes, and HD will still finance it for you if you are needing that. Happy hunting...
What about the Low Rider ? when I bought my Wide Glide I nearly bought a FXDL(Low Rider). I would have but I am long legged, and need forward controls, and to have them added would have been 500$. So that would have raised the price to nearly the same price as the wide glide. Plus, after owning a bike with Apes, I wouldn't have it any other way now ! Good luck !

Ok, listen, everyone ! The Wide Glide is THE MOST expensive Dyna there is. It is most certainly NOT a big Sportster. That is ridiculous. It's probably one of the longest wheel based models they make. At least from 06 up. They have a Dyna chassis and a Softail front end. They have the furthest reaching forward controls with the addition of the Mini Apes they really stretch you out. The Cheapest Dyna, is the Super Glide, from there it's the Custom, then the Street Bob, then it's the Fat Bob, the Low Rider, then the Wide Glide. You can get the Fat Bob with either Forward controls or mid controls, it's your choice. This isn't hard guys, do a little research before you answer a question. This guy came here looking for help, not misguided directions.

Also, as far as I know the only Dyna that comes with a tach is the Low Rider, at least from '07 and older. Also the only Dyna that has Forwards is the Wide Glide, and now the Fat Bob(as an option). Good Luck !
