What was it that changed the world from a friendly place where you could drop into your neighbours any time? |
and the door wasn't locked to now where there is crime everywhere. I remember as a child we could ride our bikes on the street without our parents worrying and now you can't??? Barry Manilow, introduced the world to rock, hard drugs and sex. Ever since then the world hasn't been the same. Rock on dude. People have started to be more fearful, although there is some evidnce that it is no worse now than it was then, just that the papers are full of it. Crime was very bad in the 70s but people have some nostalgic view they everyhwere was safe. As for our grandparents era, most young men were either fighting in the wars or dead so crime dropped. There are studies which claim that crime is not gettng worse, its just getting back to what it always was. During the wars, people had a common enemy and all the young men wre fighting, so crim dropped, and all its doing now is returning to its natural state. I'll probably get loads of thumbs down from the hang 'em all Daily Mail readers, but there you go! the world is not a safe place anymore............ CRIME Life has not changed that much it is only your perception. I can call into my neighbours anytime - I never lock my door at the weekends, there isn't crime everywhere and children are still safe to play outside - it is a fallacy that there is a paedophile on every corner waiting to take them away. Don't be stooged into fear - a fearful population is a controlled population. Liberal Governments |
