Are Pocket bikes Legal on the streets that are not often crowded with cars in new york?(highway not included) I also live in Michigan, and I have donr more research than DMV I talked to several cops, and even the lawyer to see what it is classified as. I was told by everyone that it is a mini bike, under 50cc, so it is not even considered to be a motorcycle, or a moped. So I asked where can I drive it? And was told anywhere but main roads, or in traffic, just wear a helmet and obey the driving laws. Source(s): 50cc X1, 2nd generation - big bore kit 55-62MPH I dont know about New York, but in Michigan I tried to license one as a moped unsucessfully. I argued the fact that it was under 50cc, had headlight, turnsignals, horn, brakes, and would do 25-30 mph. I called the Secretary of States offices several times and even showed up a couple times. They hated the idea of letting one drive legally and would just say it was impossible to do, and wouldnt give more explanation. |
