Motocross klr250?

I have a klr250 and want to ride more motocross than street. Any ideas on how to make the bike handle better?

Try checking out this link http://home.earthlink.net/~klr250informa...
Your biggest issue is going to be weight and there isn't a lot you can do about that since the bike has a steel frame. Also the suspension on that bike is going to break under hard jumping. If your plan is to use the bike for motocross and street, you need to rethink your plan. Riding an MX track with dual purpose tires isn't even worth the effort and knobbies are illegal on the road, so the only way to do both is to change your tires every time you go from road to MX. I wouldn't wish that task on my worst enemy. You can lighten the bike up some and have the suspension worked, but by the time you do all of that you could have bought a used MX bike. Sorry these probably aren't the answers you want to hear. Good luck.
Best Advice - Trade it in on a dedicated MX'er.

The KLR doesn't even come close. It is the 'softest' of all the trail bikes - power and supension.

Great trail/road 250 but MX'er ??? You haven't got the money to get it even close.

Cheers,
