I was getting ready to put my dirt bike away and like an idiot i fired it up and went out on the street. cops got me in front of my house, man what a bummer they threw my bike down, searched me, put me in the cop car treated me like a felon took my bike gave me a ticket for no licence,no helmet and no registration all this right in front of my house yikes. expensive. In my experience, CA cops are a bit "enthusiastic" in their enforcement against motorcyclists. License, Reg, Helmet, I am surprised they did not add: no insurance, non-street legal on a street, and in some cases, reckless. If you want your bike back, you are going to have to pay impound fees. They should have given you a paper with instructions on where your bike is impounded, and the proceedure to get it out. Do this ASAP. As the impound fees increase daily. The fees for the other violations vary by city/county. You should get an idea when you go to do paperwork for the impound. Personally? I recommend paying for an attorney, RIGHT NOW, to help you sort this out. You may have earned enough points to lose your license, and skyrocket your insurance. Probably more than the cost of a helmet and certainly less than the hospital bill you'd receive if you upside downed the bike! |
