Where can you rent bikes (to cycle) in central London? |
Hi, I live close to London Bridge and was wondering where I could go with my boyfriend to rent bikes. We want to cycle to somewhere like Greenwich or North London on a nice day. Anyone know the best place to go? I'm not sure but I think there is a place on Tooley Street near More London - has anyone tried there? I used to work in More London and can't remember if that place just sells bikes or rents them. Thanks! Here ya go ;) http://www.lcc.org.uk/index.asp?pageid=1... I live not far from you then.....just up near the Elephant & Castle......I know the place you refer to, but haven't used it myself....I have my own bike. If you want to just go cycling for a one off day out, then maybe hiring a bicycle or even getting a friend to loan you one for the day is a good idea I guess....but if you're planning on cycling for more than that......quite honestly, you'd be better off buying one of your own. Prices start from 拢1.50 an hour and go up to 拢15 per day to hire a bike around London....some shops charge 拢50 for one week.......if you shop around you can buy last season's bikes at half price. You could pick up a bike at Decathlon or Halfords for as little as 拢90......okay, they're not the best shops to buy bicycles from (they're cheap & you tend to get what you pay for) but for something to use as a day tripper around scenic London - they'd suffice & save you a hell of a lot of money spent on hiring.
